Moreton Hall V IVR U12s Blue
After our unfortunate defeat last week against Bury Tigers we couldn’t have asked for a much tougher game than an away game to MORETON HALL who are always tough opposition.
The game started well with the boys seeing plenty of the ball and after a fairly even 5 minutes a loss of possession in the RANGERS half resulted in MORETON HALL’S striker with a 1 on 1 chance slotting the ball past our unfortunate keeper 1-0 MORETON HALL.
Lewis with a bit of time on his hands managed to get his head up and knocked a glorious ball over the top for Jordan to run on to and matched his pass lobbing the out coming keeper with a great finish 1-1 well done boys.
The game played out till half time fairly even although I thought we had slightly better chances of going in ahead at half time.
HALF TIME 1-1
With 3 defenders coming off at half time injured we moved Jack to right back Lasty came on at left back and SAM making his debut for the team took on his preferred roll at centre back along side Andrew, with Brads knee feeling a little bit better he was back on the pitch on the left and Lee took on his usual midfield battling role.
After 15 minutes of fairly even football Callum was extremely unlucky when he had a speculative shot well covered only for the ball to take a bobble right in front of him and unfortunately he couldn’t keep hold of the ball and the MORETON player seized his chance to make it 2-1.
With the game barely a minute old there was a lack of concentration which resulted in MORETON scoring again 3-1 just goes to show what can happen if you switch off for even the slightest moment.
With 15 minutes of the game left the BLUES got their first bit of luck in the game with MORETON hall having to take off a player and having no subs leaving them with 10 players.
From then on the boys started to push very hard but were struggling to break down a very resilient MORETON HALL we played with 2 banks of 4 behind the ball at all times until Jordan struck a shot/cross to the far post and Tom found himself at the right place to score and gave the boys some hope, GAME ON.
Despite another 5 minutes of out and out pressure we just couldn’t break down MORETON HALL and the final whistle blew. 3-2
We have the ability and the commitment but we need to keep our concentration for the whole 60 minutes and we are a match for any team in our league, unlucky this week boys.
After a vote by the boys SAM was named man of the match not bad for a debut well done.
TRAINING THIS WEEK TUES AT CLAYDON 6-7
WE ARE AWAY TO BURY TIGERS 21/2 K.O TIME TO BE CONFIRMED
thanks STE
