Under 8's Blue V Elmswell

With the new managerial partnership of Danny and Gary at the helm of Under 8's Blues, they travelled to Elmswell for their first game in charge, on a bitterly cold Sunday morning.
Once Karl had got his breakfast and Alan had visited the bottle bank(with quite a few bottles) we were off along the A14. With Gary worrying all the way whether the lady on the sat nav was taking us the right way and myself feeling very nervous, we eventually arrived.
Prior to the game we elected Jensen Squirrell as captain. Lets hope he enjoys the role and becomes the leader he is capable of being.
With only one sub we were a bit thin on the ground but we soon hit the ground running with some good posession and slick passing. Our good play was rewarded with a half time lead with two goals from Jensen(Stevie G) Squirrell and Jack Snowling. Elmswell were rarely troubling our defence with James Lambert casting a lonely figure in goal. This prompted a change with James coming out of goal being swapped with Jack. How could we predict what happened next?? After freezing in goal in the first half James went out and scored two goals to cap off a resounding win. Give Elmswell credit for their performance, especially their smallest defender who put in some great tackles and passes. All from Ipswich Valley Rangers thank Elmswell for hosting the game and look forward to our return fixture at home on 7th Feb.
What a start and lets hope we can keep improving and learning, regardless of the result.(hopefully winning)

Our next game is at home to Stow on 31st Jan with kick off at 1pm.
